Catgirl Madness!

No flashblog today, I was much too busy not doing anything to come up with something of wit. Instead, I give you the luminous gift of dance!

So yeah, I ended up not paying attention to the image size of the first Rin Dance, and it ended up being kinda big, so I think the host took it down or it hit a bandwidth cap or something. XD I'll try reuploading it and only linking to it this time, hopefully that will keep it up, yes? XD

It's Orin! Nyar!

I didn't draw that myself obviously, that would take both talent and work. I got them from this video. The video itself is kinda off, but I'm not one to question the groove of the Rin. That's actually how I spent most of the afternoon, going from vid to vid on Youtube looking for neat stuff. Most of it's crap, but every so often I get something quite awesome. For example.

This one I made! Can you tell? :3 Orin again, stepdancing! I hadn't actually planned on devising two separate Orin dancing flashes, but then I stumbled across this version of 'Corpse Voyage ~ Be of Good Cheer!', and after spending the next hour in a deadlock between Subterranian Animism music and Irish stepdancing, how could I not make this? XD

In less interesting news, I finally got around to reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. (I've only had the book sitting around for a month or so, haha) It was actually quite interesting despite the short length. I'll probably go ahead and read Through the Looking-Glass tomorrow sometime and then talk about them both together in my next entry.

To close off, I'll give you one more video, that's just puréed defenestrated awesome. =3

About vagrant Divagation

vagrant Divagation started out as me being bored one day and messing around in Flash after spending way too much time on the interbutt. After no less than three years of grueling hardships, I somehow learned how to do unfathomable tricks like what you've seen here. I don't know how long this'll end up lasting, but as long as I don't find something more interesting to do, I'll probably keep this up. Be warned, I reference obscure things almost as much as I divide the 6th dimesion by 0, so expect to be confused every so often, or at least aware that parts of the flash are screaming past you in bullet time.

The name 'vagrant Divagation' just came from me spending an hour with a thesaurus looking for cool words that essentially meant 'random', haha.

For those silly people who get confused when I add new characters and disregard the need to actually name them for the general public, I present the Character Profiles! Brought to you fully animated and in TECHNICOLOR~!

I'll add new stuff every 1-2 new characters that are introduced, depending on how lazy I am. =D

SYSTEM SHUTDOWN IMMINENT

Must...interbutt...blarg...

So yeah, I woke up Wednesday morning, only to be greeted with the fact the internet was down, and the culprit ended up being a power supply failure in our Router or something. Took 2 days to get one out, and I had to spend it starved across the rugged badlands of the gray world. Actually, I just ended up playing Twilight Princess on the Wii a ton, so yeah. All that other stuff happened too. It was really intense.

Since I had a lot less internet stalking to do, I went ahead and finished up the Character Profile stuff too, I'll put that up tomorrow and update it periodically whenever I add someone else to the inanity.

Speaking of Zelda, Twilight Princess is just kinda weird on Wii. There's little actual thrusting and slashing of the remote, so much as just waving it when you want to hit something. This leads to me using jump and spin attacks more often, and also blindly running around enemies holding the clawshot unaware I haven't drawn my sword yet. Fun! The reverse-world isn't as bad as I thought it might be, since for some reason my memory of Twilight Princess is very hazy, like I don't recall much in the game until I get near that point. Very handy for the dungeons I guess. Overall I think I'll stick to GCN version when I replay this in the future though, it just feels better. Also, I'm cutting my Zelda span short. Dropping Phantom Hourglass and the Oracles, and probably LttP as well, just because I'm bored already, haha.

Hi Katy!

Bwahahaha. I did get lazy again though, but that's how I am and what I do! One day I'll come up with flashes that don't need complicated dance routines to convey a powerful message, but first I need another cucumber.

Phantasmagoria of Flower View translation patch is out now, hooray! And just as I expected, Cirno's stage dialogue wins the game, you don't even need to fight Yamada, the ⑨ is just too powerful, hahaha. Now I can actually understand what they're saying in all the Windows shooter Touhou games! Well, except Undefined Fantastic Object, but that's still at Demo and the full version won't be released until sometime this summer. I wonder what kind of psycho killer lolis we'll get this time, haha.

Speaking of Touhou, I finally graduated from Easy Mode! Just for fun (read:massochism) I decided to try Perfect Cherry Blossom again yesterday, and after a few stupid deaths, somehow my dodging ability bordered EPIC when I got to Yuyuko. Which is crazy, because she's the reason I always needed to use multiple continues, haha. Well, onto full normal mode! No wins yet, but I've reached the final boss in 3 games before exploding, so it's an eventuality (probably).

Also, since I'll probably gradually start using more peoples in my flashes, I guess I should put up a Character Page or something? That would be good, maybe I'll get to it this weekend. Of course, I won't include one-shots like Link, Gannondorf, Bunny Gannon, Yukari or Selphie, but I'll probably throw in characters that aren't mine if I end up using them often. Because I said so. Yeah. *puts foot down*

I was going through my bookmarks earlier today trying to see how many non-completed manga I'm reading, and came out to 24 series. I'm insane, even if half a dozen are on hiatus, that's still alot. Also amusing, before I tried to figure out how many I had, I was at 21. Distractions are awesome.

Algae Rhythms

Totally a true story. Based on Japanese history.

I spruced up the sidebar a bit so there's actually stuff there now. Well, sort of. It's all relatively useless atm, but I'm sure it'll prove invaluable down the road, right? Right?

Nothing really to talk about. Lazy summer days and all that. Ignore the fact that summer is still half a month away.

Eorzea

Anyway, so as it's obvious, Square unveiled FFXIV at E3, a new MMO slated for next year. No real connection to FFXI other than the races (which are going to be a bit different too). Anyway, most of it was prerendered stuff, but there was a few scenes using the Crystal Tools ingame engine. The pic of the shield magic on the boat is ingame stuff. No idea what the actual gameplay is going to look or even be like, Square likes being tight-lipped about everything. But yeah, I just beat/quit FFXI like 3 weeks ago too. This isn't fair! T_T

As for the rest of E3, it was pretty good. Nintendo's show was kinda lame, although some of the new games (Zelda Wii next year!) and more focus on the Wii Motion Plus makes me excited for what's to come. Sony had an AMAZING freaking show and I need a PS3 and PSP like yesterday. Seriously. I might get PSP by the end of the year, though not the PSPGo, I think I'd prefer to have physical media. PS3's too expensive without any kind of income though >_> I'll have to wait until at the absolute least next summer, probably later. Also, Square's got a new action game called Nier coming soon. It looks intense. Check it out.

Something I've been noticing recently while I sit down to work on these things...mice suck. Alot. Like I try to draw a one inch horizontal line and end up with something that looks like a violent struggle took place across a hundred years of the barren wastes of Bradwen's forehead. Yeesh. I'd like to get a tablet, but there's that money thing again, such a pain. Maybe I'll see if I can get one as my Christmas present this year or something.

Sidenote: trying to regulate sleeping habits is pain in the arse.

Kanakanakanakanakana

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Rei episode 3 is out! Hooray! It's actually been out for like a week now, but SHHHH. Anyway, thank goodness Episode 4's going to be out in only 1 month (as opposed to 2) since Rika's about to I don't even know, and I must find out! Must! BLRAFGAGDSAGSB. I mean, I had heard Saikoroshi-hen was going to be a bit weird, but it's like almost 60's suburbian town weird. Rawr, Episode 4 is the conclusion to the Arc, and Ep 5 will be Hirukowashi-hen, which I'm super-looking forward to as well. Damn you for being so awesome Higurashi! And wanna know what else happens that's super awesome in a month? UMINEKO NO NAKU KORO NI! WOOO! XD Finally! I've been wanting to learn more about that ever since it came out, but I'm too lazy to learn Japanese yet, and the manga scanlaters apparantly ditched it after a few chapters. Lame. At least a group seems to have picked back up the Watanagashi-hen manga, though it's a bit slow, it's something. Got a long way ahead of them though. XD

Anyway, today I actually gave up on the idea I had for the animation sequence at the end, I think it's a bit too far above my level atm. -_-; I wanted to have their arms bobbing up and down while running (with Mika's cleaver-arm bobbing noticably more violently :DDD) but that started getting into pathing and stuff I can't even start figuring out. The feet alone took a while to do, although there's probably something I don't know about that would've made that alot quicker. Blarg. Maybe I'll get lucky and one of my early CompSci classes will have alot of Flash stuff, or I'll befriend someone who spends all their free time making crap for Newgrounds or something, haha.

E3 started today! I'm kinda excited, although that's mainly because I wanna see more about FFXIII, Rapture and whatever Nintendo's going to melt our brains with next. Today seemed to mainly be the Microsoft press release (Sony and Nintendo are tomorrow). It's funny, because they came out there like they had the best shit in the world, and that nothing could possibly be better than an Xbox360. At all. Ever. Nevermind 90% of what they showed I can do on my PC better, and their big announcement (I didn't see it, but Katy told me about it some) was essentially the Eyetoy II. El-Oh-El. Because that went so well when Sony did it what 10 years ago?
